National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI)
For National Nanotechnology Day, the NNCI hosted its annual Plenty of Beauty at the Bottom image contest. Referencing Richard Feynman’s 1959 lecture, "There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom," this image contest celebrates the beauty of the micro and nanoscale. Sites from across the NNCI will contribute stunning, unique, and whimsical images of the micro and nanoscale for the 2022 image contest, and public votes will determine this year’s winners. Details are available at: https://nnci.net/plenty-beauty-bottom.
* Northwestern University ‘s Atomic and Nanoscale Characterization Experimental (NUANCE) Center (part of the NNCI)
For National Nanotechnology Day, the NUANCE Center hosted its annual “NUANCE Fest” on Oct. 7, 2022: https://sites.northwestern.edu/nuancefest/.
* Singh Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania (part of the NNCI)
From Oct. 11 to Oct. 14, 2022, the Singh Center for Nanotechnology hosted high school and middle school students, who met with researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, as well as undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Temple University, and Jefferson University.
